As many of you know, I have fallen in love with some software born in New Zealand, namely Xero and Vend.
Yesterday morning, awakening to the tragedy of the earthquake that devastated the community of Christchurch and the country of New Zealand, I struggled with thoughts of how I can help.
How can I put my big mouth to good use?
I am going to blog for New Zealand. Tomorrow, I will blog about features and products that have changed my outlook on the independent retail industry, financial software and the payment industry.

Thanks so much, Mariette! Sorry for the fast fingers on my part. Our friends at Xero are all right, and we are starting to hear some reports from their partners on the South Island, where the Earthquake hit. I just learned that this is the first time that they have declared a National State of Emergency. They are a strong group, and I know that if the perseverance and resolve of the few folks that I have had the pleasure of interacting with are an indication of the country collectively…they will rebuild and recover.

This is a fantastic idea Kara! As one of the Christchurch Partners we’re lucky enough to have escaped without much damage unfortunately the rest of the city not so much.
Your right as well there is so much great stuff that come out of New Zealand and even Christchurch.
I’m sure people within Christchurch and Indeed the rest of the country appreciate the efforts your making from the other side of the globe.
